Andy continued The Vision of Jesus series by looking at Jesus’s teaching on anger in Matthew 5. In the first of several consecutive sections of His sermon that He begins with the words, “You have heard that it was said…,” Jesus uses the subject of anger to illustrate that God expects His people to live by a higher standard than the world prescribes. When we allow our anger to master us, either outwardly or inwardly, it erodes our ability to connect with God and to represent Him well to those around us.
