In this continuation of The Vision of Jesus series, Phil takes a look at Jesus’s statement, “I have not come to abolish the law and the prophets, but to fulfill it.” One of the big questions challenges of our day is that many people dismiss the Old Testament as irrelevant. This statement from Jesus should make us think twice about the Old Testament. Jesus believed in it, read it (wrote it!), and viewed His own life as a continuation, not repudiation, of the sacred text. Phil explored three dimensions through which Jesus fulfilled the Old Testament, and helped us understand our role in God’s continuing narrative.
