With our holidays full of travel, planning, unique family dynamics, and all kinds of stress- it provides a perfect context to study the birth of Jesus, which itself was full of chaos. The serene images we sometimes conjure of a quiet town on a silent night are not exactly what the authors of scripture describe when it comes to this world-changing event. It wasn’t just swaddling cloths wrapped around Jesus at his birth, but immense political, economic, and social chaos. Phil gave us two practical tips in this lesson, based on Luke’s account of the birth of Jesus, that we can use to find God’s presence.
