HOLIDAY GIVING OPPORTUNITIES

Giving Back to the Community

MAGI PROJECT

The Magi Project is a coordinated effort of the churches of Christ to provide a Christmas gift box to children in an economically suppressed part of the world. Each family is encouraged to fill a shoebox with toys, candy, clothing, school supplies, and hygiene items so that a child can enjoy Christmas. In doing so, your family will be serving as an extension of Christ’s mercy and grace. Instructions on how to fill one of the Magi boxes are located at Information Central. For over 20 years, this congregation has participated in the Magi Project. This year we will again be sending the Magi boxes to our sister congregations in Piedras Negras and Allende, Mexico.

Bring your boxes to the main office during working hours, or pull up to the building and call 405.478.0166 and we’ll come out and get them, or set them on the stage by December 7.

Fall Food Drive

Sunday, November 9. Go to mrcc.org/fooddrive or grab one of the lists at the pickup spots to see what items are needed to stock our new food boxes. With SNAP benefits in question, we’re getting lots of inquiries about food availability, so let’s fill the stage next Sunday and kick the giving season off right. You can also bring those items to the building anytime during working hours to help keep the pantry filled.

INTERNATIONAL THANKSGIVING Dinner

On November 23, 2025 MRCC will host our 34th International Thanksgiving Dinner!

On November 23, 2025 MRCC will host our 34th International Thanksgiving Dinner!

Come join us for a delicious traditional Thanksgiving meal. This is a great opportunity to invite Internationals to MRCC, welcome them to a traditional American Thanksgiving meal, and introduce them to the MRCC International ministry. Use invitation flyers you will find at Information Central to invite friends and serve as their table host.

Please arrive at 6 p.m. for seating, with welcome and dinner beginning at 6:15.

THANKSGIVING Day IN THE CITY

For the Thanksgiving holiday, we are assembling and delivering meals to those with limitations that keep them from having a traditional homemade meal for the holiday. Go to the event page to learn more; volunteer on the morning of Wednesday, November 26; recommend a recipient for a meal, or donate money for pies.

CHRISTMAS GIFT PROJECTS

Pick up packets at the building on November 16 for as many people as you’d like from our various Christmas gift projects for Luther, Second Chances, and Memorial Road families. Do your shopping, then bring your gifts back to the main office area. Luther gifts will be due back by Sunday, November 30, and others will be due back by December 7. If you can’t be with us in person on November 16, email Sally Massey to see if there are any remaining, unclaimed packets.

prison ministry – mabel bassett gifts

The prison ministry team will be assembling gift packets for the women at Mabel Bassett. If you would like to donate funds to help purchase those supplies, make out your check to MRCC with Mabel Bassett in the memo. Cash is also welcome in an envelope marked Mabel Bassett. You can drop those funds by the prison ministry office, main office, or place in the offering plate on Sundays.
