“Church Family” shouldn’t be an empty cliché. The MRCC Path is a way for each and every newcomer to discern the next step on the road to getting fully connected. We know that not every journey looks the same, but this general route can help make your church really feel like YOUR church.
Take an initial step into First Cup.
Maybe you’ve been visiting for a few months and feel ready to go further. Maybe this is your very first time in a church. Wherever you are on that journey, First Cup is the first stop along The Path. Enjoy a cup of coffee, meet some friendly faces, and begin learning more about MRCC. First Cup meets during our Bible Class hour at 9:35 a.m. in the Welcome Center.
Attend a newcomer class.
Once you’re ready to make Memorial Road your church home, you can attend the Welcome Class. This one-time “MRCC 101” class is offered every two to three weeks and provides a clear overview of who we are, what we believe, and how you can get connected. Those who are ready may place membership after completing the class. For those who are new to faith or new to churches of Christ, we also offer a deeper, multi-week experience called The Inside Story, designed to provide a fuller understanding of our beliefs, practices, and mission.
Commit to actively attend and join our mission.
After you’ve shared a cup of coffee and attended class, you may be ready to identify yourself with Memorial Road by placing membership through the Welcome Class. We describe this step as a commitment because it is more than completing a card. It is a thoughtful decision to make MRCC your church home and to actively participate in our mission to live good lives, do good works, and share good news.
Form ties through worship, community, and meaningful service.
The purpose of The Path is to help you discover where you fit at Memorial Road. These steps and experiences are intentional and beneficial, creating natural opportunities to build relationships and learn who we are. As you move through them—and connect with the people you meet along the way—our hope is that you will become meaningfully engaged in worship, a Bible Class, a small group, and a place of ministry where you can serve and grow.
