OSU Botanical Gardens, Eskimo Joe’s & Bustani Plant Farm
The MRCC Senior Adult Ministry is pleased to announce a destination and dining day trip to the Oklahoma State Botanic Garden on May 19th. We will leave the MRCC church building at 8:30am and return at approximately 3:15pm. There is no charge to attend the OSU Botanic Garden but donations are welcomed.
Following the Botanic Garden tour, we will eat lunch at the iconic world famous Eskimo Jo’s at 11:00am. Eskimo Joes does not have a separate room to accommodate a group of our size but the staff will try to seat us together in large groups. To keep it simple, each person will order and pay for their lunch on their own. We will allow some time for you to shop in the gift shop if you want to purchase souvenirs.
After lunch, we will return home by way of Bustani Plant Farm, a specialty nursery located in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Bustani Plant Farm has spent years searching for the best plants that perform well in warm Oklahoma summers and they have assembled a unique collection of choice hard-to-find plants. The plants offered for sale are perennials, topicals for beds and containers, some annuals, vines, Oklahoma natives, and a few species of shrubs.
A detailed proposed schedule is included below:
8:30 – Leave MRCC
9:30 – Arrive at OSU Botanical Gardens for 1 ½ hour Guided Tour and then time on your own
11:00 – Arrive at Eskimo Joe’s to eat lunch and shop
1:15 – Arrive at Bustani’s Plant Farm for 1 hour garden tour and shopping in the garden store
2:15 – Depart to return to MRCC
3:15 – Arrive back at MRCC
Limited space for 30 people is available on 2 MRCC vehicles so please reply ASAP to reserve your space.
