Our mission is to develop relationships with internationals living in our community, by helping with English language learning and improvement, refugee assistance, cultural adjustment, friendship, and other ways of showing Christian love in action.

 

Join Us For Bible Class

SUNDAY MORNINGS

The International Class meets on Sunday mornings at 9:35 in the Summit Gym. It is a small-group discussion class of basic Bible teachings for internationals.

The first Sunday of every school-year month, the International Class meets together for their regular Bible class at 9:35 and then hosts a special worship service at 11:00 followed by a pot-luck lunch. For more information, contact our International Minister, Clay Hart.

 

WEDNESDAY EVENINGS

This class meets for one-on-one or small-group conversations centered on discussion of short texts from a simplified English translation of the Bible. Internationals are paired with native English speakers in order to improve language skills, share their stories, and develop friendships while talking about God, culture, and life.

Volunteer to tutor international students in English

Volunteer to conduct Bible studies with internationals

Plan outings and fellowship activities for international groups

Participate in monthly potluck lunch the first Sunday of each month

Take new internationals shopping and advise on living in America, etc.

Clay works with Memorial Road’s international members, encouraging and supporting them through their Christian walk. Clay works with a team of volunteers, teaching the international members about the Bible and helping them practice English. Clay and his wife, Cherry, were long-time missionaries in South Africa. There they led many to Christ, planted churches, and began a Christian school while there.

Since returning to the states a number of years ago, they have worked with Let’s Start Talking and, more recently, have worked closely Inter-Mission and Third Culture Kids. Clay is uniquely gifted by God to partner with our current volunteers and international members to continue our legacy of reaching people from all over the world whom the Lord has brought to our doorsteps.
