SUMMARY:Heartfelt Moms Registration 2026-2027
DESCRIPTION:The Heartfelt Ministry is designed to build relationships between the generations\, with a group of older women hosting and loving on a group of younger women.  It is made of Heart Moms and Heart Sisters who come together to share life stories\, have a meal together and learn from each other. \nHere is what you need to know about being a Heart Mom: \n\nThey can be married\, widowed or single women of that age.\nThey plan and prepare the evening\, giving the Sisters an example of hosting and allowing them night free of responsibilities. The evening consists of dinner\, either life stories or devotional\, optional craft or activity\, and prayer time.\nThey can choose one to three friends to be Moms with them\, or they can choose to be placed randomly with a group of Moms.\nThe evening should last approximately two hours with start times typically between 6:00 and 6:30 (the Moms in each group decide which time works best for most of their group).\nA Moms meeting on Sunday\, August 9\, 3:00- 4:30 p.m. in A105/106 should answer any questions\, with time at the end for Moms to meet with their Heart Mom group.\nA Kick Off Dinner is Monday\, August 24\, 6:30-8 p.m. in Fellowship Central. Moms will come at 6:00. More details will be provided.\nRegistration is open now and will close on July 1.\n\nSome changes from previous years: \n\nHeartfelt will kick off in August and will end in April instead of May.\nHeartfelt will officially be offered every other year\, starting this year.\nThe first two months of Heartfelt will involve sharing life stories\, dinner\, optional craft or activity\, and prayer time.  One month is designated as a service project month (we will provide ideas).\nThe other months will include devotional (provided)\, dinner\, optional craft or activity\, and prayer time.\nWe are limiting the number of Sisters to match up with how many Moms we have so …. We NEED Moms to insure we have enough groups for all the many young women who would like to be a part of this program.\nYou can choose to work with from just one other Mom up to three other Moms.\n\nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER TO BE A HEART MOM FOR 2026-2027 \nFYI Heart Sister registration will open in August after the number of groups we can offer is determined. Spaces will be limited. \nFurther questions? Contact contact Zina Siemer (405-443-8481 or zina@siemer.org) or Robyn Yahola (469-422-2009 or ryahola@gmail.com).

SUMMARY:Shoes for the City
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to join with the Serve Midtown Church of Christ\, South Walker Church of Christ\, and Edmond Public Schools to bless members of our community with new shoes. On Easter Sunday\, April 5\, we want to fill our stage with new shoes that we can distribute to those in need. This will be a great opportunity to invite a friend\, coworker\, or neighbor not only to a worship service but also to join our efforts to bless our community. \nOur goal is to collect 1000 pairs of new shoes. The greatest need is for new children’s shoes for South Walker and Edmond Public Schools. These should be \n\nTennis shoes/sneakers suitable for all weather (gender neutral preferred)\nNeeded sizes range from 8C to 13C and 1Y to 7Y\nAdult sizes will also be needed for distribution at Serve Midtown and for two Edmond Middle Schools\nPlease bring the shoes in their boxes if possible\n\n  \nOn May 2 from 1–3 p.m.\, we plan to distribute the shoes collected on Easter Sunday to the communities around Serve Midtown and South Walker. Because each site serves a different population\, the distribution approach will be unique to each location. \nServe Midtown’s new building is located across the street from the downtown bus depot\, creating a perfect opportunity to bless our unhoused neighbors. We need volunteers to make sandwiches for distribution in addition to helping hand out shoes. \nSouth Walker’s community is primarily Hispanic. In Mexico\, Día del Niño is celebrated at the end of April\, making this children’s celebration an ideal opportunity for us to distribute the shoes. Every year\, South Walker hosts a community event for Día del Niño with games\, crafts\, food\, and\, of course\, a piñata for the neighborhood kids. We will need a variety of volunteers to help with the event. \nWe will have a culminating outdoor bilingual worship for everyone involved in the Shoes for the City drive and distribution at the Wiley Post Park. Bring your own seating and join us May 2nd at 4 pm. \n  \nClick HERE to volunteer on May 2. \n  \nIn the meantime\, you can begin praying for this effort and the person you would like to invite to our Easter service as we seek to Live Good Lives\, Do Good Works\, and Share Good News.

SUMMARY:Stanley Rother Shrine and Royal Bavaria Restaurant
DESCRIPTION:Senior Ministry Invites all Seniors to a Tour and Dinner \nTour the Blessed Stanley Rother Shrine and then dine at the Royal Bavaria German Restaurant on April 13\, 2026.  We will leave MRCC 3:00pm. \nWe can accommodate up to 30 participants to attend these events and transportation will be provided. \nAdmission to the Blessed Stanley Rother Shrine is FREE. \nBlessed Stanley Rother Shrine Tour\nThe cause for the canonization of Father Stanley Rother began in 2007. In June 2015\, the Vatican formally recognized him as a martyr\, an important step toward beatification and eventual canonization. On December 1\, 2016\, Pope Francis officially declared Father Rother a martyr for the faith. He became the first martyr from the United States and the first U.S.-born priest to be beatified. His Rite of Beatification took place on September 23\, 2017\, in downtown Oklahoma City and was attended by more than 20\,000 people from around the world. \nThe Blessed Stanley Rother Shrine now stands as a symbol of faith and the Catholic Church’s presence in Oklahoma. It serves as a pilgrimage site for visitors from across Oklahoma\, the United States\, and beyond. The shrine church is designed in a Spanish mission style to resemble Saint James the Apostle Catholic Church in Santiago Atitlán\, Guatemala\, where Father Rother served as a missionary. \nThe shrine also includes a 6\,000-square-foot pilgrim center containing a museum and gift shop. The museum tells the story of Blessed Stanley Rother’s life and mission\, displaying artifacts from different stages of his life and explaining his martyrdom and beatification\, with hopes of one day documenting his canonization as well. \nDine at Royal Bavaria Restaurant\nRoyal Bavaria was founded November 20th\, 1992 by Jörg Kühne\, a businessman from Munich\, Germany. \nHis idea was to bring a Bavarian brew pub to Oklahoma with an authentic atmosphere\, true Bavarian hospitality and the typical German cuisine\, which has found so many friends all over the world. \nA 5.5 acre property was located very quickly\, and soon the project was approved by the City of Moore.  In the southeast corner of Moore on highway 77/Sooner Road\, the groundbreaking took place in August 1993.  After the customary 5 week time had passed\, according to an old custom\, the topping out ceremony took place. \nRSVP to tom.conklin@mrcc.org by April 6th.

SUMMARY:Shoes for the City Distribution
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to partner with Serve Midtown Church of Christ\, South Walker Church of Christ\, and Edmond Public Schools to bless members of our community with new shoes. On May 2 from 1–3 p.m.\, we plan to distribute the shoes collected on Easter Sunday to the communities around Serve Midtown and South Walker. \n  \nClick HERE to sign up to volunteer!
