Refugee Assistance

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.” Matthew 25:35-36

We have an opportunity to serve nearly 1000 Afghan refugees we are expecting to arrive in the OKC area in the next few weeks. There are a lot of unknowns in the situation, and planning by the resettlement agency is ongoing, so patience and flexibility are appreciated as we plan to assist this vulnerable group.

What can we do?

Pray

For the refugees’ safety and well-being as they adjust to a new life in the U.S.

That God will open doors for us to share God’s love through this refugee resettlement

For wisdom to know how we can best serve the refugees and those helping them in the transition to OKC

Host

MRCC will be open to hosting English classes and other gatherings to help the refugees in the adjustment to life here. Individual families, Qgroups, or other groups can host a refugee family in a home for dinner from time to time to allow them to experience American family life and culture.
