SUMMARY:Body & Soul Fitness
DESCRIPTION:Body & Soul Fitness is an international ministry that has been helping and encouraging students for over 40 years. It meets on Mondays and Fridays from 9:15 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. It meets at the Memorial Road Church of Christ Summit Gym. All fitness levels are welcome.\n\nThe class is interval style\, which includes cardio as well as strength training. All the music is contemporary Christian music\, with a short prayer time before class begins. It is a wonderful time for fellowship and encouragement.\n\nBe sure to bring water\, a mat or towel\, and weights and/or resistance band. \nChildcare is available upon request and is provided free by Memorial Road church of Christ. SUMMARY:DivorceCare For Kids (DC4K)
DESCRIPTION:DC4K is a weekly program for children ages 5–14 whose parents are in a separation or divorce. It’s filled with activities\, games\, music\, and crafts that help kids process their feelings and communicate with their parents. The children learn that they are loved\, they will be okay\, and God’s love will strengthen them.   DC4K provides a safe and caring setting for children to engage in fun-filled activities while learning about separation and divorce and the many changes they are encountering in their lives (at an age-appropriate level).  This is not a counseling program\, but is a place for these kids to feel safe\, learn to acknowledge the hard things happening\, and find frequent reminders of the love of Christ in their life\, even in the hardest times.  Each student will have their own activity book they work in during class and will bring home at the end of the series.  Parents will receive information that allows them to continue the discussion and grown in that week’s lesson. \n\n\n\n\nChildren will learn:  \n They’re not alone. \nBy hearing stories about kids who have faced their parents’ divorce\, children feel encouraged and less isolated. \n How to talk about their feelings. \nIntentional activities teach children how to identify their emotions and communicate them to others. \nImportant coping skills.  \nThe children will feel secure and able to manage the many changes that are happening in their lives. \nGod loves them. \nRelatable Bible stories strengthen children with the knowledge that God loves them and will help them move forward. \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOur program is offered Thursday evenings 6:30-8:00 September 11 until December 4.  \nWe will not meet Oct. 16\,  Nov. 6 or Nov. 27. \n\nREGISTER NOW for DC4K\nFor more information\, please contact Tasha Hodges in the Care & Counseling Ministry by e-mail or at 405-607-6411.

DESCRIPTION:Healing from divorce is not easy. It’s a long and painful process. The road of recovery should not be traveled alone.  \nDivorceCare is a special weekly seminar and support group for people who are separated or divorced.  It’s a place where you can be around people who understand what you are feeling. The weekly meetings include education and discussion about healing from the hurt of separation or divorce\, as well as a time to gain support. \n\n\n\nOur next fall series launches September 10\, 2025.  We will meet in room A 111 6:30-7:30 on Wednesdays this fall. \n\n\n\nChildren are invited to attend our Wednesday evening bible class for their age group while parents are in DivorceCare. SUMMARY:Alzheimer's Caregiver Support Group (Thursday afternoons)
DESCRIPTION:One in ten people over age 65 live with Alzheimer’s disease today and this number is on the rise.  Of course\, this includes members of our church family and our community.  Most of us know multiple people affected by Alzheimer’s. \n\n\nWe offer two monthly in-person support group times for caregivers of a loved one with Alzheimer’s meeting in person at MRCC.  Caregivers are welcome to attend both or either of these times:\nThe first Tuesday evening of the month\, 6:30-8:00 in A119 (led by Dawn Hemphill and Mary Jo Jones)\nThe third Thursday of the month at 3:00-4:30 in A119  (led by Denise Hawkins).   \nOur groups are led by trained facilitators who each have been shaped by how this disease has impacted their families. As we meet in person\, masks are welcome but not required.

SUMMARY:HOPE - Hope Over Pain Everyday
DESCRIPTION:HOPE (Hope Over Pain Everyday) is a support group for women who struggle with chronic pain due to arthritis\, auto-immune conditions\, severe back pain\, or other health issues. Its purpose is to provide encouragement\, education\, and hope for MRCC and community women facing daily pain challenges.  \nHOPE meets monthly on the second Tuesday from 10:00-11:30 AM in room A106. \nThis group is led by Gail Brookman\, a trained facilitator who experiences chronic pain from multiple health conditions.   We will use guided studies as well as host occasional guest speakers about resources that may be helpful. \nWhile we will be sharing our pain struggles\, our goal is for everyone to leave our support group meetings with a sense of HOPE.  HOPE because we know God will take care of us and HOPE because we can connect with others who also experience chronic pain. \nPlease pre-register and submit any questions here \nRomans 12:12 “Be joyful in hope\, patient in affliction\, faithful in prayer.”

SUMMARY:Alzheimer's Caregiver Support Group (Tuesday evenings)
DESCRIPTION:One in ten people over age 65 live with Alzheimer’s disease today and this number is on the rise.  Of course\, this includes members of our church family and our community.  Most of us know multiple people affected by Alzheimer’s. \n\n\nWe offer two monthly in-person support group times for caregivers of a loved one with Alzheimer’s meeting in person at MRCC.  Caregivers are welcome to attend both or either of these times:\nThe first Tuesday evening of the month\, 6:30-8:00 in A119 (led by Dawn Hemphill and Mary Jo Jones)\nThe third Thursday of the month at 3:00-4:30 in A119  (led by Denise Hawkins).   \nOur groups are led by trained facilitators who each have been shaped by how this disease has impacted their families. As we meet in person\, masks are welcome but not required.

SUMMARY:Women's Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Join us February 7-9 at Canyon Camp & Conference Center in Hinton\, Oklahoma (one hour west of MRCC) for a winter retreat! The theme is Heart of Grace\, with speaker and author Lori Ann Wood of Bentonville\, Arkansas. \nThe retreat features one-night\, two- night\, and Saturday-only options. Friday night check in is any time after 4:30 PM. This evening will be an informal time\, and everyone is welcome to bring snacks\, play games\, and fellowship. Saturday check-in is between 7:30-8:30 AM. Scheduled events begin at 9 AM. Sunday will include breakfast and worship time. Check out is 11 AM. \nMeals – Saturday meals include breakfast\, lunch\, and dinner. Sunday includes breakfast. Gluten Free options are available with advance notice (please indicate on registration form). \nAccommodations range from motel style rooms with 2 persons per room (3 or 4 upon request) to large cabins with bunk beds for 15 and shared bathrooms. Two sessions will be dedicated to helping parents understand the unique influences and mindsets of Generation Alpha. \nArtificial Intelligence: Opportunities and Threats: Have you considered how artificial intelligence will impact our children and teens?  This session will unpack both opportunities and threats facing parents as they seek to navigate the impact of AI on growth and development. \nThe Anxious Generation: How do we help? This session will focus on understanding the anxiety our children and teens are experiencing.  Parents will also be given tips for managing anxiety and addressing the underlying issues \n  \nDr. Shelly Melia serves as the Program Director for the Master of Arts in Children’s Ministry and the Master of Arts in Family Ministry at Dallas Baptist University. She is a recognized scholar and sought-after expert in the psychological development and education of children and teens.
