SUMMARY:Heartfelt Moms Registration 2026-2027
DESCRIPTION:The Heartfelt Ministry is designed to build relationships between the generations\, with a group of older women hosting and loving on a group of younger women.  It is made of Heart Moms and Heart Sisters who come together to share life stories\, have a meal together and learn from each other. \nHere is what you need to know about being a Heart Mom: \n\nThey can be married\, widowed or single women of that age.\nThey plan and prepare the evening\, giving the Sisters an example of hosting and allowing them night free of responsibilities. The evening consists of dinner\, either life stories or devotional\, optional craft or activity\, and prayer time.\nThey can choose one to three friends to be Moms with them\, or they can choose to be placed randomly with a group of Moms.\nThe evening should last approximately two hours with start times typically between 6:00 and 6:30 (the Moms in each group decide which time works best for most of their group).\nA Moms meeting on Sunday\, August 9\, 3:00- 4:30 p.m. in A105/106 should answer any questions\, with time at the end for Moms to meet with their Heart Mom group.\nA Kick Off Dinner is Monday\, August 24\, 6:30-8 p.m. in Fellowship Central. Moms will come at 6:00. More details will be provided.\nRegistration is open now and will close on July 1.\n\nSome changes from previous years: \n\nHeartfelt will kick off in August and will end in April instead of May.\nHeartfelt will officially be offered every other year\, starting this year.\nThe first two months of Heartfelt will involve sharing life stories\, dinner\, optional craft or activity\, and prayer time.  One month is designated as a service project month (we will provide ideas).\nThe other months will include devotional (provided)\, dinner\, optional craft or activity\, and prayer time.\nWe are limiting the number of Sisters to match up with how many Moms we have so …. We NEED Moms to insure we have enough groups for all the many young women who would like to be a part of this program.\nYou can choose to work with from just one other Mom up to three other Moms.\n\nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER TO BE A HEART MOM FOR 2026-2027 \nFYI Heart Sister registration will open in August after the number of groups we can offer is determined. It meets on Mondays and Fridays from 9:15 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. It meets at the Memorial Road Church of Christ Summit Gym. All fitness levels are welcome.\n\nThe class is interval style\, which includes cardio as well as strength training. All the music is contemporary Christian music\, with a short prayer time before class begins. It is a wonderful time for fellowship and encouragement.\n\nBe sure to bring water\, a mat or towel\, and weights and/or resistance band. \nChildcare is available upon request and is provided free by Memorial Road church of Christ. SUMMARY:Alzheimer's Caregiver Support Group (Tuesday evenings)
DESCRIPTION:One in ten people over age 65 live with Alzheimer’s disease today and this number is on the rise.  Of course\, this includes members of our church family and our community.  Most of us know multiple people affected by Alzheimer’s. \n\n\nWe offer two monthly in-person support group times for caregivers of a loved one with Alzheimer’s meeting in person at MRCC.  Caregivers are welcome to attend both or either of these times:\nThe first Tuesday evening of the month\, 6:30-8:00 in A119 (led by Dawn Hemphill and Mary Jo Jones)\nThe third Thursday of the month at 3:00-4:30 in A119  (led by Denise Hawkins).   \nOur groups are led by trained facilitators who each have been shaped by how this disease has impacted their families.

DESCRIPTION:Grief is a very deep\, complicated bundle of emotions that can be truly overwhelming.  Each of us in our lifetime will grieve for a number of reasons brought on by life circumstances.   Naturally\, we think of grief after the loss of a loved one.   We also may grieve loss of connections when we move\, loss of a pregnancy or infertility\, loss of a close relationship\, the end of a marriage\, loss of employment\, and many other losses.  Our church family cares deeply about those grieving in any way and we don’t want you to feel you are grieving alone. We want to offer you love\, hope\, and support in your journey of grief. \nWEEKLY GRIEF SUPPORT \nIf you have experienced the death of a loved one please join us for this program of education and support. SUMMARY:HOPE - Hope Over Pain Everyday
DESCRIPTION:HOPE (Hope Over Pain Everyday) is a support group for women who struggle with chronic pain due to arthritis\, auto-immune conditions\, severe back pain\, or other health issues. Its purpose is to provide encouragement\, education\, and hope for MRCC and community women facing daily pain challenges.  \nHOPE meets monthly on the second Tuesday from 10:00-11:30 AM in room A106. \nThis group is led by Gail Brookman\, a trained facilitator who experiences chronic pain from multiple health conditions.   We will use guided studies as well as host occasional guest speakers about resources that may be helpful. \nWhile we will be sharing our pain struggles\, our goal is for everyone to leave our support group meetings with a sense of HOPE.  HOPE because we know God will take care of us and HOPE because we can connect with others who also experience chronic pain. \nPlease pre-register and submit any questions here \nRomans 12:12 “Be joyful in hope\, patient in affliction\, faithful in prayer.”

SUMMARY:Broken and Mended Chronic Pain Support Group
DESCRIPTION:Broken and Mended is a support group for any adults who live with chronic pain due to arthritis\, auto-immune conditions\, severe back pain\, or other health issues.  Our group’s purpose is to provide encouragement\, education\, and hope for MRCC and community members facing daily pain challenges.  \nBroken and Mended will offer our first informative meeting on Tuesday March 10 to gather interested folks to talk more about about this program.  We will then meet monthly on the second Tuesday from 6:30-7:30 PM in room A106. \nThis group  is led by Dennis Myrick\, a trained facilitator who experiences chronic pain.  We will use guided studies as well as host occasional guest speakers about resources that may be helpful. \nWhile we will be sharing our pain struggles\, our goal is for everyone to leave our support group meetings with a sense of support and encouragement. \nPlease pre-register and submit any questions here \nRomans 12:12 “Be joyful in hope\, patient in affliction\, faithful in prayer.”

SUMMARY:Alzheimer's Caregiver Support Group (Thursday afternoons)
DESCRIPTION:One in ten people over age 65 live with Alzheimer’s disease today and this number is on the rise.  Of course\, this includes members of our church family and our community.  Most of us know multiple people affected by Alzheimer’s. \n\n\nWe offer two monthly in-person support group times for caregivers of a loved one with Alzheimer’s meeting in person at MRCC.  Caregivers are welcome to attend both or either of these times:\nThe first Tuesday evening of the month\, 6:30-8:00 in A119 (led by Dawn Hemphill and Mary Jo Jones)\nThe third Thursday of the month at 3:00-5:00 in A119  (led by Denise Hawkins).   \nOur groups are led by trained facilitators who each have been shaped by how this disease has impacted their families. As we meet in person\, masks are welcome but not required.

SUMMARY:Body & Soul Fitness
DESCRIPTION:Body & Soul Fitness is an international ministry that has been helping and encouraging students for over 40 years. It meets on Mondays and Fridays from 9:15 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. It meets at the Memorial Road Church of Christ Summit Gym. All fitness levels are welcome.\n\nThe class is interval style\, which includes cardio as well as strength training. All the music is contemporary Christian music\, with a short prayer time before class begins. It is a wonderful time for fellowship and encouragement.\n\nBe sure to bring water\, a mat or towel\, and weights and/or resistance band. \nChildcare is available upon request and is provided free by Memorial Road church of Christ. Contact Krista at krista.welch@sbcglobal.net. \nFees are now monthly instead of by session. To attend once per week is $25/month\, and to attend twice per week is $40/month. Join any time! SUMMARY:Mature Ladies Exercise Class
DESCRIPTION:All ladies mid-60’s and up are invited to join us every Tuesday and Thursday from 2-3 p.m. in A123 for a video-based standing/sitting in a chair exercise class that is focused on core strength\, balance\, endurance\, and stretching. Class is led by Carolyn McMillan. Bring weights\, a stretchy band\, a mat if desired\, and water. No charge to attend.

DESCRIPTION:Group Guitar Class\n\nLearning songs of The Beatles\nTuesdays\, March 24 through May 12\n6:30-7:30 PM\nSummit S1\n\n  \nThis is a group guitar class for complete beginners\, and for those who would like to start again because “it’s been a while”! There is something special about learning how to play guitar with a group of people. \nLee Langdon will be teaching this class in the Summit S1 room. Students will learn basic guitar chords\, basic strumming\, and some basic music theory. Each week the class will learn together a new Beatles song\, formatted simply enough for all students to join in. I think you might be surprised how fun this class will be playing music together! \nThis class is for all ages\, old and young. You’re never too old to learn a new instrument! \nParents: please note that any person younger than youth group age (below 6th grade) will need to have a parent with them for the entire class. \nNote for all students: Every student will need to have their own guitar\, guitar picks\, and capo. \n  \nREGISTER HERE
