SUMMARY:Shoes for the City Distribution
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to partner with Serve Midtown Church of Christ\, South Walker Church of Christ\, and Edmond Public Schools to bless members of our community with new shoes. On May 2 from 1–3 p.m.\, we plan to distribute the shoes collected on Easter Sunday to the communities around Serve Midtown and South Walker. Because each site serves a different population\, the distribution approach will be unique to each location. \nServe Midtown’s new building is located across the street from the downtown bus depot\, creating a perfect opportunity to bless our unhoused neighbors. We need volunteers to make sandwiches for distribution in addition to helping hand out shoes. \nSouth Walker’s community is primarily Hispanic. In Mexico\, Día del Niño is celebrated at the end of April\, making this children’s celebration an ideal opportunity for us to distribute the shoes. Every year\, South Walker hosts a community event for Día del Niño with games\, crafts\, food\, and\, of course\, a piñata for the neighborhood kids. We will need a variety of volunteers to help with the event. \nWe will have a culminating outdoor bilingual worship for everyone involved in the Shoes for the City drive and distribution at the Wiley Post Park. SUMMARY:OSU Botanical Gardens\, Eskimo Joe's & Bustani Plant Farm
DESCRIPTION:The MRCC Senior Adult Ministry is pleased to announce a destination and dining day trip to the Oklahoma State Botanic Garden on May 19th.  We will leave the MRCC church building at 8:30am and return at approximately 3:15pm.  There is no charge to attend the OSU Botanic Garden but donations are welcomed. \nFollowing the Botanic Garden tour\, we will eat lunch at the iconic world famous Eskimo Jo’s at 11:00am.  Eskimo Joes does not have a separate room to accommodate a group of our size but the staff will try to seat us together in large groups.  To keep it simple\, each person will order and pay for their lunch on their own.  We will allow some time for you to shop in the gift shop if you want to purchase souvenirs. \nAfter lunch\, we will return home by way of Bustani Plant Farm\, a specialty nursery located in Stillwater\, Oklahoma.  Bustani Plant Farm has spent years searching for the best plants that perform well in warm Oklahoma summers and they have assembled a unique collection of choice hard-to-find plants. The plants offered for sale are perennials\, topicals for beds and containers\, some annuals\, vines\, Oklahoma natives\, and a few species of shrubs. \nA detailed proposed schedule is included below:\n8:30 –  Leave MRCC\n9:30 – Arrive at OSU Botanical Gardens for 1 ½ hour Guided Tour and then time on your own\n11:00 – Arrive at Eskimo Joe’s to eat lunch and shop\n1:15 –  Arrive at Bustani’s Plant Farm for 1 hour garden tour and shopping in the garden store\n2:15 – Depart to return to MRCC\n3:15 – Arrive back at MRCC \nLimited space for 30 people is available on 2 MRCC vehicles so please reply ASAP to reserve your space. \nPlease note: in case of inclement weather this event might have to be cancelled or postponed.

We’re heading back to beautiful Copper Mountain\, one of the MRCC family’s favorite summer destinations. \nIf you’ve been before\, you know why people count down to Summit every two years. And if you’ve never joined us\, this is the perfect moment to jump in. Picture cool\, high-country mornings\, days filled with mountain adventures for all ages\, and a village packed with things to do\, eat\, and explore. \nEvenings bring devos\, fellowship\, and more fun than should legally fit inside a resort ballroom. New friendships always form. Old ones always deepen. \nSummit is a highlight for our church family — come be part of Summit 2026! \n  \nEarly Registration is now – March 31. Reservations will have program fees waived! \nRegular Registration is April 1 – May 31. Program Fees – $15/per person (over age 2). \nLate Registration is June 1 – June 27.
