Mark Taylor

Executive Minister

The Taylor family began their ministry at Memorial Road in 1994 when Mark joined the staff as the Education Minister. During their first stay here they grew to love this congregation deeply as they worked with hundreds of dedicated volunteers to teach God’s Word to children and adults alike.

In the late Fall of 1999 Mark and Karla, and their daughters, Karissa and Karenna, moved to Arlington, Texas where Mark became the pulpit minister for the Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ.  Eight years later the elders here invited the Taylors back home to Memorial Road, asking Mark to preach.   Mark now serves as our Executive Minister.  In this role he coordinates our staff and works closely with our elders on leadership and shepherding issues.

Mark earned a B.A. in Preaching from Oklahoma Christian and has a Master’s degree in Organizational and  Intercultural Communication from the University of Oklahoma. He has done additional graduate studies in Missions and Ministry through ACU.  Mark has over 30 years of ministry experience, having preached for 21 years of that time. Previously he has preached in New Milford, CT, and has served as a Campus Minister in Norman, OK.

Karla graduated from OC with a degree in Elementary Education and has taught in the public schools in both Oklahoma and Texas. In addition to her fulltime job of being a mom, Karla serves as co-director of Journey Land, MRCC's elementary education ministry. Karla loves to teach Bible classes for all ages and is a frequent speaker at women's events.

The Taylors love to read, travel, and spend time outdoors. Mark can’t get enough of sports and Karla likes to spend her spare time working on crafts and home projects. The Taylors have two daughters. Karissa is an OC graduate who teaches middle school in Broken Arrow, where she lives with her husband, Adam.   Karenna is a sophomore at Edmond Memorial.
